Confidence on turning everything I learned into an opportunity.

Throughout the years I have learned a lot of stuff, from the basics of how to property hold a pencil for drawing, to create virtual worlds and manipulate them at will. In the industry of gaming, not everybody gets the opportunity to get in and start working in big projects, even the people working there on entry level they start as an intern or even a coffee and donut boy.

All the people in the industry had a dream working there and it wasn’t given to them magically, they had to work their way up like everybody else and turned their experience and everything they learned into an opportunity to succeed in the industry.

In my case I’m not an exception.  Everything I’ve learned, everything I’ve worked for so long throughout this years, I am committed to turn it into an opportunity to get into the industry and start working on my dream job.

Although the positions in the gaming industry are very demanded and wanted by a lot of people, it inspires me to do better, it eagers to create higher and better quality work to impress people from the industry.

Although I’m close to the end of my school years, it makes me feel more confidence about my work and actually having a chance on getting a job in the industry, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop there, I’m always looking to overcome myself everyday.

EOC_Wk_7

Through my life, I’ve had few achieved goals although they are few, in m opinion are very significant. My first career goal was to graduate form high school, since half of my friends didn’t graduate, I think it was a big goal that took me a step closer to achieve my career.
Getting enrolled and attend college has been another life goal, since I decided what I wanted to do for my future and that is to be a game artist, since from my closest friends, I’m the only one attending college currently, and even in my family, I’m the only one attending college, and I believe that that is a big goal achieved.
My current coal is to graduate from college, but not just get a diploma and forget about the 4 years I spent here, I want to project what I have learned and put in in motion, I want to be an environment artist for games and work for one of the big companies. Currently there are a few companies I want to work for: Bethesda studios, Nintendo, Capcom, Microsoft studios just to mention a few. I want to start as a 3D modeler or concept artist for environments or a game tester, form there I want to become environment artist or even director of the art department.
I now that these companies are well known and have a high quality work in their background, and I’m wiling to put all my effort to achieve such requested quality work. I want the company I work for to recognize my work and not speak for my work, I ant my work speak for me.

One of the key factors that will help me on achieving this goal is get to know people that would help me advance in my career, people from the industry, and meet the requirements needed for the position.

EOC_WK6_Improving my website

Improving my website

1.     To improve my website I can add more details about my work but not all of them, show a piece here and there but without giving too much away, this way I can create cliffhangers so that people would want to know more about what I do.
2.     A lot of websites have a dynamic background and graphics on their layout, I feel really attracted to the idea of having that in my website. I can modify my page and have my slide show fade in when the page is loading and have some of the social media tabs scroll down as well.
3.     Background is a big thing for me too since that is my focus, background artist. I plan on having a nice background as my page background, something that I’ve worked for a good amount of time, also, harmonize the colors in my page since I’m working with mostly grays and de-saturated colors, I have to keep everything consistent .
4.     Not only on a computer my page has to work, but also in a mobile device, and a lot of times pages in mobile devices tend to take for ever to load, so I will check and see what I can do to prevent that and having people form leaving the page. I have to make the page work on the mobile device since I’ve seen that the page doesn’t cooperate with the dimensions of the device, which means, if I decide to zoom in, the page does not follow the dragging and just stays in the zoomed area. The gallery has to work too so I’m going to make the pictures less heavy for the mobile to proses them and that way everybody can see them.

5.     People like to see the artist of person working on the field, so I decides to include some pictures of me working on some works, although my work is mainly on a computer I can include outside of school projects, so that way I have more variety on what I do.

EOC-Week5-What ever works

EOC-Week5-What ever works

In the film, we see the mother, a character that has gone through some traumatic experience, the loss of his husband and house, we see the stress she went through when living with her husband, she couldn’t work on her dream job; a photographer. We see how she had to go through all of that to get to do what she really liked, and from there her life changed, her personality and morals changed as well. Putting this in our own perspective, we can go through some life changes, some of them can be good or bad, but everything happens for a reason, if we have the opportunity to change or life style in order to peruse what we really love doing, we have to take the chance and do it, there might be people that think otherwise and try to put you down, but If we really love something, and we are really committed on doing it, we have to take that opportunity and follow our dream career.
